There are several huge buddhas, there, but only this one stands outside, in the center of the area. The biggest and most interesting statues are in caves, and photo is forbidden.

Il y a plusieurs bouddhas énormes, là-bas, mais seul celui est dehors, au centre de la zone. Les plus gros et plus intéressants sont dans des cavernes, et la photo y est interdite.

There's a kind of window and we can see the face of one of those big buddha statues. I had already noticed this in Japan. For exemple, Nara's huge bouddha can see the outside every 31st december when the window is open in front of his face.

I don't know the reason for those holes or windows in front of the face.

Il y a comme une fenêtre et nous pouvons voir le visage de l'une des ces grosses statues de bouddha. J'avais remarqué cela au Japon. par exemple, le boudha gigantesque de Nara peut voir l'extérieur chaque 31 Décembre lorsque l'on ouvre la fenêtre en face de son visage.

Mais j'ignore la raison de ces ouvertures en face des visages.

Those grottoes are more than a thousand year old, endangered by acid rains.

Ces grottes ont plus de mille ans, mise en danger par les pluies acides.

Even the ceiling of some caves are carved with buddha related things. And all of this is more than a thousand year old.

Même les plafonds de certains grottes ont été gravés en relation avec le bouddhisme. Et tout ceci est âgé de plus de mille ans.

Those small buddhas are in the same room as yesterday's big one. I don't know how many ones were carved, but it's impressive.

Ces petits bouddhas sont dans la même salle que le grand d'hier. Je ne sais pas combien il y en a, mais c'est impressionant.

Here is the first view from the grottoes. Each hole holds a buddha statue. We may find thousands of small ones and some big ones in the larger holes.

Voici la première vue de ces grottes. Chaque cavité contient une statue de bouddha. On peut trouver des milliers de petites statues et quelques grosses dans les grottes les plus vastes.

The title says it all: this is the local restaurant, very near the car park. Tomorrow I'll post the real first pictures from the grottoes.
Le titre dit tout : il s'agit du restaurant local, à coté du parking. Demain je posterais la première véritable photo des grottes.

This is the car park. The strong wind blow dusts high in the sky. People here sell dusts masks. What the hell is this place ?

Voici le parking. Le vent puissant souffle les poussières assez haut. les gens ici vendent des masques anti-poussières. Bon sang qu'est-ce que c'est que cet endroit?

On our way to the Yungang grottoes, we stopped at a restaurant lost in the middle of nowhere, where there's not even any electricity. The food was good and fat. Very fat.

Sur la route qui nous mène aux grottes Yungang, nous nous sommes arrêtés à un restaurant perdu au milieu de nulle part, où il n'y a même pas d'électricité. La nourriture était bonne et grasse. Très grasse.

Last view from the temple

This is the last shot about this temple / monastery built on a cliff. I'll start a new set of pictures next week. It'll be about the Yungang grottoes, listed as a world heritage. There are thousand of buddhas carved in the grottoes there, from very small ones to huge ones. Picture were not allowed for the 2 most amazing ones, but there are many things to show anyway.
Voici la dernière vue de ce temple / monastère construit sur une falaise. Je débuterais une nouvelle série de photos la semaine prochaine. Elle sera consacrée aux grottes Yungang, sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'humanité. Il y a des centaines de bouddhas sculptés dans les grottes, de très petit jusqu'à d'énormes statues. Les photos n'était pas autorisées pour les deux plus impressionants, mais il y a tout de même énormément de choses à montrer.

Always those small animals on the chinese temple's roofs, facing the outside, facing the big mountain.
