A last walk through this square ended a very short stay in Luxembourg. I don't know if I'll come back someday, but that small (and not well known) country left me a good feeling. I left this town and country for a german city located near the border. Next week's pictures will be about Trier.

Une dernière marche au travers de cette place a achevé un très court séjour à Luxembourg. Je ne sais pas si j'y reviendrais un jour, mais ce petit (et peu connu) pays m'a laissé une bonne impression. J'ai quitté cette ville (et ce pays) pour une ville allemande située près de la frontière/ Les photos de la semaine prochaine seront au sujet de Trêves.

Religious buildings are a testimony of a nation's culture and way of life. It can even bring, through the picture, a feeling of local life. In a buddhist temple, you may smell the burning encense, and, if you're lucky, hear monks singing on special events. Muezzin will be singing early in the morning and 4 other times a day to call for the musleem prayers.

This is the local cathedral, and its melodic bells fill the atmosphere regularly all along the day.

Les édifices religieux sont un témoignage de la culture d'une nation et de son style de vie. Ils peuvent même amener, au travers d'une photo, les sensations de la vie locale. Dans un temple bouddhiste, vous pourriez sentir de l'encens brûler et, si vous êtes chanceux, entendre les moines chanter lors d'occasions particulières. Le muezzin appelera les fidèles musulmans à la prière tôt le matin et à 4 autres reprises.

Il s'agit de la cathédrale locale, dont les cloches mélodieuses emplissent l'atmosphère régulièrement tout au long de la journée.

Two bridges cross this small canyon. They gave me the wrong feeling that the place from where I took the first pictures is an island.

Deux ponts traversent ce petit canyon. Ils m'ont donné la fausse impression que l'endroit d'où j'ai pris mes premières photos est une île.

It's not hard to guess that local kids come to play here after every snow fall.

il n'est pas difficile de deviner que les enfants du coin viennent jouer ici après chaque chute de neige.

The only people we met there were just a few joggers speaking french or german. We loved walking in the fresh virgin snow of that park.

Les seuls habitants que nous avons rencontrées étaient juste quelques personnes faisant leur jogging, parlant français ou allemand. Nous avons adoré marcher dans la neige fraiche de ce parc.

Here is what probably dug the rocks for many centuries to create such an interesting rift, valley (I don't know how to call it). Walking here was very relaxing. Everything was very silent, impossible to hear the noise from the numerous cars. Only the bell from the local cathedral sometimes reached our ears.

Voici ce qui a probablement creusé la roche pendant de nombreux siècles pour créer ce rift, ce vallon intéressant. Y marcher était très relaxant. Tout était silencieux, impossible d'entendre le bruit des nombreuses voitures. Seule la cloche de la cathédrale atteignait nos oreilles de temps en temps.

Like most of the countries in Europe, Luxembourg suffured from the second world war and honnor its dead people who fought for freedom, no matter their religion or political preferences.

Comme la plupart des pays d'Europe, le Luxembourg a souffert de la seconde guerre mondiale et honnore ses morts qui ont combattu pour la liberté, sans se préocupper de religion ou d'orientation politique.

Europe

Yesterday was the last of the pictures from trip to China done in October. From tomorrow I'll start posting pictures or videos I shot in january during a short trip in western Europe. The cities I went to are Luxembourg, Triers and Essen. And contrary to what some tought, Luxembourg is a country on itw own, and not a part of Germany. Actually, the full name is "Grand Duché de Luxembourg".

J'ai posté hier la dernière photo tirée de mon voyage d'octobre dernier en Chine. A partir de demain je commencerais à poter les photos d'un court voyage en Europe de l'Ouest. Les villes par lesquelles je suis passé sont Luxembourg, Trêves et Essen.
