There's a pink building, facing the cathedral... with those pink lions. Ok, it doesn't look so pink on the picture. The snowy sky turned everything to grey.

Il y a un bâtiment rose , en face de la cathédrale, avec ces lions roses. Ok, ce n'est pas si rose sur la photo. Le ciel neigeux a tout estompé en gris.

We sometimes looks at foreign tourists making pictures and feel strange. We wonder why they take something wich is so common. This is actually very commun for us only. Trier inhabitants may have wondered why I shot this picture. We actually don't have such colorfull squares in France, or so little that I never saw any.
Nous regardons parfois les touristes étrangers avec curiosité lorsqu'on les voit prendre une photo de quelque chose qui nous parait banal. Banal pour nous seulement. Les habitants de Trêves se sont peut-être demandés pourquoi je prenais cette photo. En fait, en France, nous n'avons pas de place dont les bâtiments sont ainsi colorés, ou si peux que je n'en ai jamais vu.

This is probably a church, seen from the Hauptmarkt square. By a curious fate, its colors are the same ones the arabic building ones I've shown yesterday.

Il s'agit probablement d'une église, vue depuis la place Hauptmarkt. Par une curieuse coincidence, ses couleurs sont les mêmes que celles du bâtiment arabe dont j'ai parlé hier.

We're still in Germany, in Trier. According to the city's official website, this surprising arabic style buildling was built in the 1200's.
Nous sommes toujours en Allemagne, à Trêves. D'après le site web officiel de la ville, ce surprenant bâtiment de style arabe a été construit dans les années 1200.

On my way from Luxembourg to Essen, I stopped and had a look at Trier. That city got many proofs pfrom the presence of the roman empire, and that "black gate" wich seems to be coming from the Lord of the Rings is the most important one. I unfortunately didn't have time to visit other ones, wich seem to be mosty ruins.
Sur la route de Luxembourgà Essen, j'ai stoppé à Trêves pour une courte visite. Cette ville a de nombreuses preuves de la présence de l'emprie romain, et cette "porte noire" qui semble venir du Seigneur des Anneaux en est la plus importante. Je n'ai malheureusement pas eu le temps de visiter les autres, qui semblent n'être majoritairement que des ruines.

Europe

Yesterday was the last of the pictures from trip to China done in October. From tomorrow I'll start posting pictures or videos I shot in january during a short trip in western Europe. The cities I went to are Luxembourg, Triers and Essen. And contrary to what some tought, Luxembourg is a country on itw own, and not a part of Germany. Actually, the full name is "Grand Duché de Luxembourg".

J'ai posté hier la dernière photo tirée de mon voyage d'octobre dernier en Chine. A partir de demain je commencerais à poter les photos d'un court voyage en Europe de l'Ouest. Les villes par lesquelles je suis passé sont Luxembourg, Trêves et Essen.
