San Marino is the oldest surviving sovereign state and constitutional republic in the world and its constitution,  enacted in 1600, is the world's oldest constitution still in effect. San Marino is an enclave in Italy  about 10 km from the Adriatic coast at Rimini. The highest point in the country, the summit of the Titano Mount, is 749 m above the sea level. This is as well the third smallest country in Europe with Vatican and Monaco being being smaller. The head of its government is made of two captain-regents elected every 6 months by the council. The historic center located on the Titano mount became a world heritage site in 2008 and this is what i'm going to  share in the coming posts.

Saint Marin est la république constitutionelle et l'état souverain le plus ancien du monde et sa constitution, établie en 1600, est la plus ancienne du monde toujours en usage. Saint Marin est une enclave en Italie à environ 10 km de la cote Adriatique. Le sommet du pays est le mont Titano, à 749 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Saint Marin est également le 3eme pays le plus petit d'Europe, après le Vatican et Monaco. A la tête de son gouvernement se trouvent deux capitaines-régents élus tous les 6 mois par le conseil. Le centre historique situé sur le mont Titano est devenu patrimoine mondial de l'humanité en 2008 et c'est ce que je vais partager dans les prochains posts.
