China - Pingyao - some details from a taoist temple

Nov 2011

I don't remind I've seen any buddhist temple for the 2 visits I did at Pingyao's old city. Anyway, may it be Buddha, Confucius or Tao, almost the temples are all built with the same structure, the main differences being the statues inside the buildings. Maybe that is a consequence of the feng-shui principles ? To see a different kind of taoist temple, go the temple of Heaven in Beijing where square and circle shapes are put together to show the union between the heaven and the earth.

  2. The colour of red seems to be very important for the Chinese temple and your photos describe it well.
