This church was built between 1763 and 1765 and its bell tower was added in 1821. Local citizen were allowed to build their own church ebcause the trip to the next village was too long. Later another church was built and this one was abandoned until 1929 when it was restored. It became a world heritage in 1994.
What is interesting and unusual is that this church is totally made of wood. Paintings and pieces of arts inside are still the original ones.
Cette église a été bâtie entre 1763 et 1765 et son clocher date de 1821. les habitants du village on reçu l'autorisation de construire leur propre église parce que celle du village voisin était trop éloignée. plus atrd, une autre église a été construite et celle-ci est restée abandonnée jusqu'en 1929 où un restauration a lieu.
L'inscription au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité date de 1994. Ce qui est intéressant à noter est que cette église est totalement fait en bois. Les peintures et les quelques objets d'art sont toujours ceux d'origine.
