Last view from the temple

This is the last shot about this temple / monastery built on a cliff. I'll start a new set of pictures next week. It'll be about the Yungang grottoes, listed as a world heritage. There are thousand of buddhas carved in the grottoes there, from very small ones to huge ones. Picture were not allowed for the 2 most amazing ones, but there are many things to show anyway.
Voici la dernière vue de ce temple / monastère construit sur une falaise. Je débuterais une nouvelle série de photos la semaine prochaine. Elle sera consacrée aux grottes Yungang, sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'humanité. Il y a des centaines de bouddhas sculptés dans les grottes, de très petit jusqu'à d'énormes statues. Les photos n'était pas autorisées pour les deux plus impressionants, mais il y a tout de même énormément de choses à montrer.

Always those small animals on the chinese temple's roofs, facing the outside, facing the big mountain.

After we reached the top of this temple / monastery, we begin to go back by another way. We arrived by the lowest floors of the buildlings, we'll go back by the highest ones. There's this very narrow path, even too narrow for adults shoulders.
Après avoir atteint le sommet du temple / monastère, nous débutons le retour, mais par un autre chemin. Nous sommes venus par les rez-de-chaussée des différents bâtiments, nous rentrerons par les étages les plus élevés. Il y a cette voie très étroite, même trop étroites pour des épaules adultes.

Suspended between the earth and the sky, there's just lonely eagle missing in such large spaces. But I don't remind I saw any bird in those mountains.

Suspendu entre terre et ciel, il manque juste un aigle solitaire dans ces larges espaces. Mais je ne me souviens pas avoir vu d'oiseau dans ces montagnes.

I forgot this picture, yesterday. It was shot just before reaching the platform from where I shot yesterday's picture. I guess it's one of those pictures wich get some of my friend saying : "I'll never go there, I'm too afraid".

J'ai oublié cette photo, hier. Elle a été prise juste avant d'atteindre la plate-forme depuis laquelle j'ai pris la photo d'hier. Je suppose que c'est une de ces photos qui font dire à certaines de mes connaissances "Je n'irais jamais là-bas, j'ai trop peur".

This is the highest point of this temple, and the most difficult one to walk on, for who suffers from vertigo. The path is very narrow where I stand, and nothing higher than my knee separates me from falling down... 80 m. There and there are small holes welcoming small statues of Buddha, Confucius or Tao, all standing together.

Voici le point le plus élevé du temple, et le plus difficile à emprunter pour ceux qui souffrent de vertige. La voie est très étroite là où je me tiens, et rien de plus haut que mon genou ne me sépare des 80m de vide. Ca et là il y a de petites cavités dans lesquelles on trouve cote à cote des statues de Bouuddha, Confucius et Tao.

There's nothing special to say about this picture, except this the way people walk to get in the hanging temple. I first took just for its graphic style.

Il n'y a rien de spécial à dire au sujet de cette photo, si ce n'est que c'est par là que les visiteurs du temple suspendu arrivent. Je ne l'ai en fait prise que par son coté graphique.

I have to admit that, realizing how old the wood looks like, I was a little bit afraid when walking there.

Je dois admettre que, en voyant à quel point le bois semblait solide, j'étais un peu inquiet en marchant là-bas.

Here we just finished to climb the stairs, and are ready to enter the temple. It seems 90% of the visitors take the picture like this couple you can see on the picture.

Ici nous venons de terminer les escaliers et sommes prêts à entrer dans le temple. Il semble que 90% des visiteurs prenne la photo comme ce couple que vous voyez sur la photo.

You can see those thin wood pillars supporting the monastery. This place is not for the people suffering from vertigo.

This wooden temple was built about 1500 years ago into a cliff, 75 m above the ground. The reason for it was to keep it protected from a river. This temple is a bit special since there, 3 religions are worshipped together : Taoism, Confucianism and Bouddhism.

Ce temple en bois a été construit il y a environ 1500 ans sur une falaise, 75 m au-dessus du sol. La raison était de le protéger d'une rivière. Ce temple est spécial dans la mesure ou 3 religions y sont pratiquées ensemble : Taoïsme, Confucianisme et bouddhisme.
