Behind the frog

I shot this picture when was standing next to the frog I mentionned yesterday. 500 m away from there stands this 60 meter high rock (the Qingchui peak). To get there by the official way will need you to climb and go down 3 mountains like what you can see on this picture. They say if one can walk to the rock and put hands on it, one can live 130 year old.

J'ai pris cette photo quand en me tenant juste à coté de la grenouille dont je parlais hier. A 500m ce tient cette roche haute de 60 mètres et de forme surprenante (le pic Qingchui). L'atteindre par le chemin officiel nécéssitera de monter et descendre 3 montagnes comme celle que vous voyez sur la photo. On dit que si vous pouvez poser vos mains dessus, vous vivrez jusque 130 ans.

Chinese frog

Rain, wind and years sometimes gives strange shapes to mountains. This one is from Chengde. People love to guess things from shapes (usually clouds) and this one is supposed to be a frog. There's a small cave going through the rock in wich people love to go. It's said to bring a healthy life if you do so.

La pluie, le vent et les années donnent parfois de drôles de formes aux montagnes. Celle-ci est de Chengde. Les gens adorent imaginer des choses à partir de formes (en général à partir de nuages) et celle-ci est censée être une grenouille. Il y a une petite grotte la traversant de part en part, que les gens adorent emprunter. On dit que vous serez en bonne santé si vous le faites.

China - Chengde - mini Potala palace

No, this picture is not the worldwide famous Potala palace from Lhasa, not in Tibet. I shot it in the north of China, in a city called Chengde, far away from Tibet, where i didn't have the luck to go yet. Anyway visiting this temple brouhgt me into another world. Nice weather, nice temple.

Non, cette photo ne représente pas le mondialement célèbre palais du Potala, à Lhasa au Tibet. Je l'ai prise dans le nord de la Chine, dans une ville nommée Chengde, loin du Tibet, où je n'ai pas encore eu la chance de mettre les pieds. Quoi qu'il en soit, visiter ce temple m'a transporté dans un autre monde. Bonne météo, et temple très agréable.

Deer in Chengde, China

Those deers are more polite than the japanese ones. When they get some food, they can bow a little bit their heads whent hey're asked to say "xie xie" (thank you).

Ces cerfs là sont plus polis que ceux du Japon. Quand ils reçoivent de la nourriture, ils inclinent leur tête quand on leur demande de dire "xie xie" (merci).

Buddha - Chengde, China

Ok, that's not a buddha. Well, not really. And the picture isn't even straight, and the building is not complete. And I can't even remind why. But inside this building is located the tallest wooden buddha I have ever seen. Chinese people even claim it to be the biggest of the world. Just imagine how big it is when you see the entrance door and imagine the top of its head is just under the ceiling up there.

D'accord ce n'est pas une photo de bouddha. Enfin, pas directement. De plus la photo n'est pas droite et est mal cadrée. Et je ne sais plus pourquoi. Mais dedans se trouve le plus grand bouddha de bois que j'aie jamais vu. Le chinois le disent être le plus grand du monde. Imaginez sa taille en voyant la porte d'entrée et imaginez que le dessus de sa tête est juste sous le plafond, tout là-haut.
