X-Japan is a local band very popular in Japan. They disbanded at the peak of their popularity and had their alst live in December 1997. After this, all the members went on their solo career. hide, one of the guitarists, was very popular at that time... and died in May 1998, 3 months before I shot this picture.
Shibuya station is famous for being very crowded, for having the statue of the dog Hachiko, and for having two giant screens promoting artists or any kind of product. On this picture, they were broadcasting Zilch's first (and last) video with hide singing "Electric cucumber". Today, X-Japan is back at playing music, without hide. Probably not so many today's fans of the band were lucky enough to see such a promotion.
X-Japan est un groupe très populaire au Japon. Il se sont séparés au sommet de leur popularité et ont eu leur dernier concert en Décembre 1997. Après, tous les membres du groupe ont poursuivi leur carrièe solo. hide, l'un des guitaristes, était extrêmement populaire à cette époque... et est mort en Mai 1998, 3 mois avant que je ne prenne cette photo.
Shibuya est une station connue pour être bondée, pour avoir à proximité la statue du chien Hachiko, et pour avoir deux écrans géant promouvant des artistes ou toute sorte de produit. Sur cette photo, ils étaient en train de diffuser la première (et dernière) vidéo de Zilch avec hide chantant "Electric Cucumber". Aujourd'hui, X-Japan s'est reformé, sans hide. Probablement peu des fans de X-Japan ont eu l'occasion de voir ce genre de promotion d'un de leurs artistes favoris.
whaouu j'aurais bien aimé voir ça :p et oui la fille qui se plaint lol Je ne sais pas si tu as vu mais ils refond encore 2 concerts au Tokyo Dome cette année et un a Taipei. Pour Paris toujours pas de nouvelles :/ arrrgg enfin on verra !
