China - Keyan - Like a bridge over troubled water

May / Mai 2005
This one was shot in Keyan. This place is located close from Shaoxing / Hangzhou. I was having lunch with a friend in a restaurant when a group of old chinese turists (about 40) finished eating, got up and walked to the exit. They walked one by one in the narrow aisle and each of them looked at my face, one by one, with a lot of astonishment on their faces. I first wondered if I had some spinach between my teeth when smiling or whatever. Then I felt coming from another planet. Until my chinese friend explains me there are not a lot of turists going to this place. Those old people had probably never seen any european face elsewhere than on TV before this day.

  1. That's a really fantastic picture. I live in South Dakota, USA, and have never ventured farther than Canada, so I envy you who has gotten the chance to see these places. Thanks for sharing!
